This year marks the 15th anniversary of the AMANO Group. Established in August 2009 with 30 employees, the team of the Berlin-based hotel group has grown to 550 people since then. Starting with just one hotel, the group has not only expanded throughout Germany but also internationally. Currently, the AMANO Group manages 12 hotels: eight in Berlin, one in London, one in Düsseldorf, one in Munich, and recently opened AMANO Home in Leipzig. Seven more hotels are under construction or in planning stages in Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, and Munich. Another highlight for the anniversary is the expansion into the USA with Hotel AMANO Boston.
While each property has its unique features, all follow a consistent concept: providing guests with a premium urban living experience at a fair price. All hotels are centrally located in attractive neighborhoods and offer amenities that exceed upscale standards, including high-quality materials like real wood flooring, tasteful modern interior design, and exceptional comfort.
In addition to its hotels, the AMANO Group has been known since day one for its innovative dining concepts, bridging the local scene with city visitors.
The group has set gastronomic trends, such as introducing the first rooftop terrace with a bar at the flagship Hotel AMANO, now expanded to four across the group including one in London. The restaurant MANI preceded a nationwide trend towards Levantine cuisine with its modern Israeli cuisine in 2011 (2012 winner Berlin Master Chefs – “best Berliner scene restaurant”). Following were the first G&T Bar in Germany, the restaurant JOSEPH, and HABEIT shel AMANO with targeted Israeli street-food concepts. With the opening of Penelope’s in London, the group aimed to fuse Spanish-Israeli elements, reflecting its founder's heritage and childhood. Last year, Amigo Cohen restaurant was launched, offering further culinary compositions of Mexican-Israeli fusion.
Numerous awards over the years speak to the AMANO Group's success, including Mixology Award for the AMANO Bar in 2010, Rolling Pin Award for Ariel Schiff as "Hotelier of the Year 2019," and "Head of the Year 2019" by AHGZ. The group also won the "ICONIC AWARD 2022: Innovative Architecture" in the INTERIOR category and multiple World Traveller Awards. Most recently, the FIZZZ Award for "Trend Concept of the Year" was secured for Amigo Cohen restaurant at the end of 2023.

None of this would be possible without its employees. Therefore, the hotel group has developed a new employee-friendly concept post-pandemic, not only to retain existing staff but also to attract new talent: the "AMANO Cares for you" benefits. "Certainly, we're not the first to offer such measures for our employees," Schiff said at the time of implementation. "But then and now, and especially this year as we celebrate 15 years of AMANO, we've developed further benefits. Acquiring new employees is important, but strengthening the longstanding team that has fought alongside me for our collective success is equally crucial," Schiff added.
